Es ist typisch: Berühmte Menschen werden als Deutsche vereinnahmt, ohne zu erwähnen, daß die Deutschen sie als Juden in den 30iger Jahren aus Deutschland "rausgeschmissen" haben. So auch Gerhard Neumann, dessen Mutter eine geborene Cohen war und der nach China flüchten mußte, andernfalls er -wie Millionen andere Juden- in deutschen KZ´s ermordet worden wäre.Leider verschweigt man diesen Teil des Lebens von Gerhard Neumann in Deutschland. Als kritische Empfehlung: Mal die ARTE Beitraege vom 15. April 2010: "Starfighter -Mit Hightech in den Tod" (1-9) via www.youtube.com ansehen. Bes. Teil 8 u. 9! War nur F84-Mechaniker von 1960-1964, c/o JaboG34 in Memmingen, da gabs diese Probleme z. Glueck noch nicht.

Thank you for honoring a great aircraft, great engine, and mostly, a great pioneer of aviation. Mr. Nuemann was one of the most inspiring leaders I have ever met during my 25 plus years in Aviation. He was leaving GE as I was beginning my career with him and I had the great pleasure of meeting him and attending several of his lectures. We miss him here at GE Aviation.

I have incredible memories of Gerhard, whose mother Frieda was a sister of my own grandmother. More than an uncle, he was a brilliant light in my own future- the latter now also coming -having reached 81 years - to an end.

Gerhard Neumann was my great grand uncle! He was my grandfathers cousin, Claude Salomon.
We will visit the museum for sure!

I had the pleasure of hosting Gerhard Neumann at a GE Senior Management meeting in Washington in 1979. At dinner he mentioned that he had serched the GE management directory and proclaimed that after he retired, I would "become the seniormost Gerhard in the General Electric Company". I held that title until I retired from the company in 1988. Mr. Neumann was an outstanding leader, technologist, and motivational speaker. Intersetingly, we shared the same birthday, October 8th.

danke für die super Führung durch das Museum, gestern. Während unserer Kunstflugmeisterschaft in Pfarrkirchen, war das ein tolles Alternativprogramm, als wir nicht fliegen konnten! Weiterhein viel Erfolg und Spaß beim Ausbauen Deiner Träume!

Gerhard was a mentor and close friend during my early career at GE Aircraft Engine Lynn and Evendale. He showed me the way and set the tone for my career.
